Screwed for good? The case for screw caps on red wines has received wide acclaim in more than twenty countries. Here's a sample of what the critics had to say:

'The swing toward finishing wines with screw caps is nearing a tipping point in Australia and New Zealand, where prominent wineries are adopting the technology in ever better wines. If screw caps win the day worldwide, Stelzer’s book will have chronicled a turning point. And I will be standing in my cellar, applauding.'

'Screwed is a 100 page magazine-format trawl through the minefield of issues in the cork-versus-screw cap debate. It's a pretty good read and laced with forthright quotes from industry luminaries (Henschke, Grosset, Kerriga, Mitchell...) which comes out strongly in favour of screw cap closures for almost all wines, including serious red wines for cellaring.
The case Stelzer mounts is pretty compelling... it's the first time that all the contentious issues have been laid out clearly for all to see... here's a single, relatively straightforward, non-boffinish review. Agree of disagree with its conclusions, it makes absolutely clear what the key issues are and where the fault lines are drawn...
Stelzer's job in canvassing the issue is all the more commendable for his constant preparedness to give voice to those who do not follow his preferences in thought and practice.'
Divine Magazine

'The book is highly technical and quotes 60 winemakers and experts, yet many scientifically minded consumers will find much in it to interest and inform them. The sub-title may address the more controversial issue of red wine and screw caps but most of the information applies equally well to white wines.'
Huon Hooke, The Sydney Morning Herald

'Thoroughly well-argued.'
Independent News UK

'A very good book.'
James Halliday

Stuart Gregor, in the Sunday Telegraph Magazine

Dr Bryce Rankine

'I have requested that Penfolds send copies of this book to our international reps. This will, no doubt, speed up the international uptake of screw caps as these markets become aware of the anecdotal evidence that the book presents in favour of the seal.'
Peter Gago, Penfolds Chief Winemaker

'A really well put-together argument. A very balanced approach.'
Andrew Mitchell, Winemaker, Mitchell Wines
